I am fortunate to have two very fulfilling passions. Until recently, I never realized how they would converge. First, I’ve been a successful musician, composer and producer for the past 30+ years. And second, I always had a knack for managing my own personal finance, and enjoy helping others with theirs. Yes, I know this is a pretty unusual left/right brain combination (I might have been dropped on my head as a child or something). 

Based on my experience, most traditional financial professionals, while competent, are unfamiliar with the nuances of how music professionals make a living. Musicians often earn income from many employers, and these sources of income are rarely the same each year.

Upon further consideration, I came to believe that there is a void in the freelance musician community when it comes to pertinent financial advice. Based on my experience, most traditional financial professionals, while competent, are unfamiliar with the nuances of how music or freelance professionals make a living. Musicians often earn income from many employers, and these sources of income are rarely the same each year. These individuals need guidance to navigate their unique challenges from both a business and financial perspective.  

I launched "Plectrum Advisers," a Registered Investment Adviser, specifically focused on the studio musician community with the premise of offering first-hand knowledge and insight designed to create a secure financial future.
